Walter Otero y Olga Alba con la finalidad de aportar a la comunidad de artistas jóvenes de Republica Dominicana unen fuerzas y recursos en una primera convocatoria donde los allí presentes podrán tomar pautas a partir del dialogo: “Como lograr una carrera exitosa en el mundo del arte” por Otero, quien con su experiencia a lo largo de 20 años en la practica de la curaduría y dirección de arte, responderá todas esas inquietudes que exponga la audiencia con la finalidad de poder establecer un vinculo directo con los mismos en un ambiente cálido, sencillo e informal. Tratando de crear lazos entre dos islas hermanas Alba y Otero ponen su empeño en esta comunidad de jóvenes artistas, los llamados artistas de la calle, muralistas o grafiteros, o como Alba les llama “LOS REPRESENTANTES DEL NUEVO CONTEMPORANEO”, los que viven la realidad de las calles, ya sea porque de ahí vienen o ahí van por sus obras, esos que en su momento pasaran a las paredes de las galerías y museos y desde luego a la historia.  Olga Alba nació en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana (1974) Arquitecta de profesión, egresada de la Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña en el año 1998, con especialidad en interiorismo diplomada por NYU en la ciudad de Nueva York, USA; posteriormente incursiona en el mundo de las artes plásticas retomando los estudios en 2013 con el programa de grado Arte Contemporáneo en la Universidad Británica Central Saint Martin y en 2014 en Coleccionismo de Arte Contemporáneo en el Sotheby’s Institute of London. Una sed insaciable por el arte mueve a Olga Alba por grandes ciudades, visitando museos, bienales, exposiciones, instituciones culturales y ferias de arte, sumando a su formación académica mas herramientas para convertirse hoy día en una especie de híbrido entre curadora/critica/asesora de arte que en conclusión y por ventaja de todas las anteriores la hacen también comunicadora, pues todas esas experiencias y aventuras la comparte por las redes sociales y/o en medios de comunicación local como por ejemplo la revista District & Co., Revista La Casa y la Editora Listín Diario para quienes a colabora- do publicando sus diferentes artículos y entrevistas.
Con la finalidad de aportar a la comunidad de artistas y al arte local en general Olga Alba está creando los enlaces necesarios entre las academias de arte, galerías, instituciones educativas y financieras nacionales e internacionales necesarias para poder brindar- les el apoyo y la oportunidad de abrirse camino a nivel internacional como parte del art network o red de las artes de donde todos tendrán algo que tomar.
“Definitivamente me considero un filamento de la red aunque mas bien creo que soy la araña que va tejien- do la red, esa que está para unir un punto A con un punto B, C o D donde sea que se encuentre en el planeta, el arte es universal por lo que estar limitado ha este pedacito de tierra en El Caribe (aunque estratégicamente bien posicionado) es también un limite al alcance del artista y sus seguidores, en mis aventuras me voy desplazando, conociendo y conectando con el medio del arte en general, es decir curadores, galeristas, artistas, directores de ferias e instituciones que respaldan todo lo referente al tema, me gustaría seguir captando talentos locales y guiar- los, ser su embajadora ayudándolos a llegar a las academias internacionales donde pulirían sus destrezas, los museos donde exhibirían o a cualquier otro de estos puntos ya antes establecidos, el B, el C, el X o el infinito.”
Walter Otero, nació en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico (1978)
Comenzó en el mundo del arte a mediados de los años noventa como asistente del puertorriqueño Arnaldo Roche Rabell, uno de los artistas más influyente en la escena del arte de Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica. Junto a Roche Rabell y por la labor que con el desempeñaba, Otero tuvo la oportunidad de viajar a exposiciones, bienales y grandes museos que despertaron en el un voraz apetito por saber mas del mundo del arte, rápidamente pasa de interés a pasión sobre todo por el arte contemporáneo.
En el 2000 comenzó la creación de lo que más tarde llegó a ser conocido como Walter Otero Gallery. A sus 25 años de edad, Otero, abrió su primera galería, descrita como un minimalista cambas blanco, representando a ocho artistas. Desde entonces ha colab- orado con muchos otros mas, ayudándoles directa e indirectamente a encontrar nuevos rumbos y oportunidades impulsando sus carreras. El impacto de la Galería ayudó a posicionar su país como un mercado de arte influyente, de ahí surgieron colaboraciones y asociaciones con galerías de primer orden como lo son Lehmann Maupin, James Cohan, Yvon Lambert, Paula Cooper, y Robert Miller, entre otras, estas asociaciones han sido un vínculo clave para que Otero, permitiendo hacer nuevos contactos con mas artistas y coleccionistas. Colaborando también para instituciones como el Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR)
