SIMPLES PIEDRAS, O... ALGO MAS

Para mi sería muy fácil hacer una descripción detallada de cada una de las piedras preciosas y semipreciosas que nos brinda la naturaleza, pero no creo que esto pueda tener un interés relevante para el público en general, cogiendo un tratado de gemología cualquiera, podríamos enterarnos de las clasificaciones entre ellas, de la composición química, sistema cristalográfico al que pertenecen, donde están los yacimientos mas importantes, etc… Pero lo que puede inspirar mas curiosidad es adentrarnos un poco en el mundo de la “magia” de las piedras, en el influjo que han tenido sobre las personas, en su simbología particular, en el porque han sido siempre consideradas como uno de los símbolos de poder.

Recuerdo que ya al principio, cuando mi trabajo consistía en comprar diamantes en Amberes, mis proveedores se ponían muy nerviosos, era una mocosa de veinti-pocos años, cuando me entregaban un carpet (sobre) con piedras para que lo estudiara para la posterior compra, lo abría y sin mirar ni tan siquiera una piedra con la lupa, lo volvía a cerrar, se lo entregaba y decía “no”. Y así, hasta que al abrir uno, algo me transmitían las piedras, entonces lo estudiaba, y si estaba en precio, lo compraba.

Realmente esto los desquiciaba. Después de unos años, me enteré de que otro cliente, hindú por más referencias, hacía lo mismo. No se que nos decían las piedras, aún hoy sigo sin saberlo. Lo que sí sé es que las piedras compradas de esta manera, siempre se vendían. Si alguna vez, por no encontrar lo que buscaba, me quedaba con algunas que al abrir el sobre no me habían comunicado nada, a pesar de estudiarlas y no encontrarles nada malo, la mayoría de las veces se quedaban en el despacho sin vender. Cuando pienso en el porqué, me remito a la historia, y entonces pienso que no soy un bicho tan raro.

UN POCO DE HISTORIA

El hombre ha utilizado las piedras preciosas por lo menos desde hace 7000 años. En China, en la India, en Mesopotamia, en Egipto y en las antiguas civilizaciones de América, han quedado huellas de los talladores que perforaban y labraban las piedras de color para hacer collares, pulseras, pendientes e incluso figuras que se han encontrado entre las ruinas de varias ciudades sumerias, asirias, preincaicas y en el interior de las tumbas faraónicas.

Las primeras en valorarse fueron la amatista, el cristal de roca, el ámbar, el jade, los corales, el lapislázuli, las perlas, las esmeraldas y las turquesas. Pertenecían exclusivamente a las clases sociales más elevadas y eran al mismo tiempo un símbolo de poder.

En la Edad Media los mercaderes las traían desde Oriente. En el Renacimiento las piedras semipreciosas se utilizaron en la arquitectura funeraria, construyéndose templos con columnas de malaquita, alabastro y otras piedras reservándose las preciosas para los poderes reales y eclesiásticos. Ya en nuestra era, después de los descubrimientos de los yacimientos de diamantes en Sudáfrica, de esmeraldas en Brasil y tantos otros, el auge de las piedras preciosas y semipreciosas ha ido en aumento y se ha popularizado dejando de ser exclusivamente un artículo de lujo.

En la actualidad las gemas se hallan prácticamente al alcance de cualquier economía. A pesar de que algunos muestran hoy en día sus gemas engarzadas en oro y platino para demostrar su riqueza, también otros las muestran por el propio placer de apreciar su belleza.

UN POCO DE MISTICA

Al adquirir una piedra debemos sentirnos fascinados por ella, incluso sin preguntarnos el porque. Antiguamente, cuando el ser humano era más primitivo y espiritual, a las gemas se les atribuía un algo misterioso, un algo divino, por ello se utilizaban como amuleto y talismán, protegían contra los espíritus, podían defendernos del mal y conservarnos la salud. Hasta principios del siglo XIX las gemas se utilizaban incluso como medicamentos contra las enfermedades. Algunas veces, la sola presencia de una piedra bastaba para la curación, queda constancia escrita de ello en diversos tratados. Todavía hoy, en Japón, se venden con fines terapéuticos pastillas de calcio de perlas machacadas.

En la actualidad, dentro de un mundo tecnológicamente más avanzado, nos preguntamos si el buen resultado de esta litoterapia se debía al poder de la piedra o a la mera sugestión, pero no podemos perder de vista la fascinación que por ellas sentimos.

Como consecuencia natural de la creencia en algo sobrenatural inherente a las piedras, se tendió un puente hasta la astrología, y se atribuyó una piedra a cada signo zodiacal. Las piedras preciosas tienen también un lugar en las religiones modernas. El sumo sacerdote de los judíos tenía como símbolo cuatro filas de piedras preciosas, en la tiara y la mitra del Papa y los obispos, las custodias, reliquias, e incluso imágenes de la iglesia cristiana encontramos gemas.

¿Porqué en la actualidad, la mayoría de personas, ha olvidado la mística en torno a las piedras, y únicamente las valoran como pura inversión de capital, o símbolo de poder económico?

¿Eran tontos los egípcios porque colocaban gemas en las tumbas para que los acompañaran en el viaje al mas allá? ¿Los llamados “sabios” de la antigüedad, no lo eran, porque creían en el poder de las piedras? ¿Porqué no pensamos que quizás algo hay?.

Como gemóloga, por lo tanto científica, soy incrédula por naturaleza y si no me demuestran las cosas, no las creo, pero, ¿porque no tenemos en cuenta la energía de las piedras?. Yo creo que ahí está la clave.

Con nuestra vista, no captamos los rayos ultravioletas, para nuestros oídos los sonídos con longitudes de onda superiores a 7000 A, o inferiores a 4000 A, simplemente no existen. Se escapan a nuestros sentidos y sin embargo están.

Hay minerales, gemas o piedras, como se les quiera llamar, que al ser sometidos a una presión determinada, vibran y generan energía. Un claro ejemplo es el cuarzo, que hoy en día se está utilizando en relojería e incluso en instrumentos quirúrgicos.

Este campo magnético, creado por la liberación energética, se puede canalizar.

Si partimos de la base de que cada mineral vibra con una longitud de onda diferente, que algunas de sus propiedades son la luminiscencia, el magnetismo, la conductividad eléctrica y la radioactividad y a eso añadimos que tienen diversidad de colores, y los colores son originados por la luz, es fácil suponer que cada piedra emitirá “algo” diferente. Puede ser que esto sea lo que captaba yo cuando compraba los diamantes, su energía. Si pensamos que nosotros somos energía y generamos un campo energético, y las piedras tienen la suya, ¿es muy descalabrado pensar en que una piedra puede potenciar nuestra energía, cuando se encuentran campos afines?

No me atrevo a definirme en cuanto al poder curatório de las piedras, no sé si pueden servir para algo, pero sí he comprobado, que una pequeña esfera de cuarzo, cuando se pasa repetidas veces por un punto doloroso del cuerpo,(como puede ser la sien), el dolor desaparece o se amortigua, y el cuarzo que en un principio está frío, se ha calentado. Dicen que cuando nos duele algo, ahí hay un foco de energía negativa acumulada. El cuarzo, lo único que hace es absorberla y dejar fluir la positiva.

¿Solo el cuarzo sirve para algo? ¿Porqué no dar un voto de confianza, siempre limitada, a alguna otra piedra?

Hace un tiempo, una señora de edad madura, con una posición social mas que envidiable y una educación exquisita, me trajo un collar de ámbar porque se le había roto, y me pidió que se lo arreglara al momento. Le dije que era imposible, y que tardaría un par de días. Me rogó que no fueran más, y cuando le pregunté el porqué, me quedé muda. Sabía que tenía en su casa joyas con diamantes, esmeraldas y otras piedras preciosas y solo llevaba ámbar ¿sabéis porqué?. Desde que se puso el collar, no le dolían las cervicales. ¿Estaba loca? No lo creo.

A lo largo del tiempo vengo observando diversas reacciones entre las piedras y las personas que la verdad es que de momento se escapan de toda lógica.

Siempre ha sido un placer para mi trabajar con piedras, y las sensaciones que he experimentado con ellas siempre han sido agradables, por ello tiendo a que los que me rodean se beneficien también de alguna manera. Cuando me encargan un collar, miro a la clienta, por si capto algo que me diga que piedra le puede ir mejor, y no siempre, pero algunas veces debo acertar, porque transcurrido un tiempo, cuando me la encuentro me dice “no me lo quito de encima”.

Ahora bien, cuando llega a mis manos un libro sobre los milagritos de las piedras, soy tan escéptica como cualquiera de vosotros.

Por si alguien quiere intentarlo, os voy a dar un consejo, aunque no sea del todo científico, que por lo menos tiene lógica.

Para poder beneficiarnos de la energía de las piedras, aunque parezca ridículo, deben estar limpias. Hay varias maneras de limpiarlas, y a veces complicadas, pero el sistema más sencillo es ponerlas debajo del grifo, y dejar correr el agua sobre ellas.

Otro es colocarlas en un vaso de agua en el que disolveremos una cucharada de sal natural, y después de removerlas bien para que se impregnen, se colocan al sol durante tres o cuatro horas. Algunos libros dicen que también es útil exponerlas al influjo de la luna, el primer día de luna llena.( Yo por si acaso, siempre las limpio).

Hay personas expertas en temas energéticos, chacras y demás, que seguro podrían “iluminarnos” un poco más, pero de momento si queréis “jugar” un poco aquí tenéis una lista de libros, como poco, interesantes y distraídos, que ¿quién sabe?, a lo mejor os lleváis una sorpresa y os sirven para algo:
