Por quinto año consecutivo la Fundación de Arte Arawak se prepara para la presentación del Festival de Dibujo en su cuarta edición.El Festival de Dibujo es un evento cultural que se realiza con el propósito de fomentar la producción del dibujo, estimular su coleccionismo y consolidarlo como el medio de expresión artístico de mayor riqueza.
El Vto. Festival de Dibujo, este año cuenta con la participación de 52 artistas, de reconocida trayectoria, así como de jóvenes talentosos que exhibirán trescientos sesenta dibujos realizados en diferentes técnicas.Como exhibiciones complementarias, el Vto. Festival de Dibujo presentara, tres importantes exhibiciones:
1- Exhibición de Artistas Invitados. Esta exhibición presenta dibujos de 10 consagrados artistas que han dedicado gran parte de su trayectoria artística al dibujo.
2- Exhibición Homenaje Póstumo a 12 artistas por su aporte al dibujo.
3- Exhibición de dibujos del Museo del Dibujo Contemporáneo-MUDIC, una institución cultural de la Fundación de Arte Arawak cuyo propósito fundamental es conservar, difundir y valorar el dibujo como uno de los medios artísticos más importantes. Contará, además, con la participación de alumnos de la facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad Pedro Henríquez Ureña –UNPHU- presentando dibujos a mano alzada, el periódico HOY con caricaturas de Wilson Morfe e ilustraciones de Cristian Hernández y exhibición de comics e ilustraciones de Moro Studio y la instalación “Ciudad reciclada” realizada con material reciclado (cartones y cajas) del renombrado artista Ernesto Rodríguez.Durante el evento los visitantes podrán disfrutar de un programa didáctico y de entretenimiento para toda la familia que incluye talleres, charlas y conversatorios sobre el dibujo, sin costo alguno para los participantes.
El Comité Organizador del IV Festival de Dibujo manifestó que este proyecto se realiza con el propósito de darle continuidad a los programas de difusión, valoración y consolidación del dibujo que ha venido desarrollando por más de dos décadas la Fundación de Arte Arawak.El Quinto Festival de Dibujo será realizado desde el martes 3 al domingo 8 de octubre en horario de 11:00 de la mañana a 8:00 de la noche en un local ubicado en el primer piso del Centro Comercial Downtown Center, ubicado en la Ave. Rómulo Betancourt esquina Ave. Núñez de Caceres.Anexo: Programa de actividades Listado Artistas Invitados y Homenaje Póstumo

MUSEO DEL DIBUJO CONTEMPORANEO
Selección de dibujos de los fondos del Museo del Dibujo Contemporáneo -MUDIC.El MUDIC fue creado por la Fundación Arawak con dibujos obtenidos a través de los Premios de Adquisición de los Salones de Dibujo realizados por la Fundación, algunos donados por artistas, amigos y coleccionistas y otros adquiridos directamente de los artistas. En sus inicios se instaló en el Salón Español de la Galería Nacional de Bellas Artes y posteriormente fue trasladado a un local propio ubicado en el sector de Evaristo Morales, en una casa de dos niveles donada por el Sr. Eduardo Canahuate.

For the fifth consecutive year the Arawak Art Foundation prepares for the presentation of the Drawing Festival in its fourth edition. The Drawing Festival is a cultural event that is carried out with the purpose of promoting the production of drawing, stimulating its collection and consolidating it as the medium of artistic expression of greater wealth. The Vto. Festival of Drawing, this year has the participation of 52 artists, of recognized trajectory, as well as talented young people who will exhibit three hundred and sixty drawings made in different techniques. As complementary exhibitions, the Vto. Festival of Drawing presented, three important exhibitions:
1- Exhibition of Guest Artists. This exhibition features drawings by 10 well-known artists who have devoted much of their artistic trajectory to drawing.
2- Exhibition Homenaje Posthumus to 12 artists for their contribution to drawing.
3- Exhibition of drawings of the Museum of Contemporary Drawing-MUDIC, a cultural institution of the Arawak Art Foundation whose main purpose is to preserve, disseminate and value drawing as one of the most important artistic mediums. It will also have the participation of students from the Faculty of Architecture of the University Pedro Henríquez Ureña - UNPHU - presenting freehand drawings, the newspaper HOY with caricatures of Wilson Morfe and illustrations of Cristian Hernandez and exhibition of comics and illustrations by Moro Studio and the installation "Recycled City" made with recycled material (cartons and boxes) by renowned artist Ernesto Rodríguez. During the event, visitors will be able to enjoy a didactic and entertainment program for the whole family that includes workshops, talks and conversations about the drawing, at no cost to participants.
The Organizing Committee of the IV Drawing Festival stated that this project is carried out with the purpose of giving continuity to the programs of dissemination, valuation and consolidation of the drawing that has been developing for more than two decades the Arawak Art Foundation. MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY DRAWING Selection of drawings from the funds of the Museum of Contemporary Drawing - MUDIC. MUDIC was created by the Arawak Foundation with drawings obtained through the Awards of Acquisition of the Drawing Salons realized by the Foundation, some donated by artists, friends and collectors and others acquired directly from the artists. In its beginnings it was installed in the Spanish Salon of the National Gallery of Fine Arts and later it was transferred to an own place located in the sector of Evaristo Morales, in a house of two levels donated by Mr. Eduardo Canahuate.
