“Urban Issues” exposición de tres artistas contemporáneos en Galería ASR Contemporáneo Arte San Ramón
SANTO DOMINGO, D.N.- Galería ASR Contemporáneo Arte San Ramón anuncia la Exposición Urban Issues, de los artistas Angel Urrely, José Almonte y Limber Vilorio, a celebrarse el miércoles 6 de junio de 2018 en Galería Arte San Ramón Contemporáneo, a beneficio de la Fundación Amigos contra el Cáncer Infantil, Inc.
La Fundación Amigos contra el Cáncer Infantil, Inc. (FACCI) es una organización sin fines de lucro de la República Dominicana, comprometida en mejorar las condiciones de vida de los niños con Cáncer, de escasos recursos económicos. El voluntariado de la Fundación Amigos Contra el Cáncer Infantil nace del interés de ofrecer soporte y compañía a los niños y sus familiares para enfrentar y sobrellevar mejor el tratamiento.
Arte San Ramón junto los artistas Angel Urrely, José Almonte y Limber Vilorio donarán obras de su autoría a la Fundación Facci poniendo de manifiesto el compromiso cada vez mayor de la Galería y de los artistas con las problemáticas sociales y en particular con la lucha contra el cáncer.
Esta exhibición “Urban Issues” refleja la mirada de estos tres artistas jóvenes contemporáneos Angel Urrely, José Almonte y Limber Vilorio quienes abordan desde sus propuestas visuales las relaciones particulares y colectivas que operan entre los escenarios urbanos, su devenir actual y las formas de vida de los individuos en el contexto geográfico caribeño, sus dimensiones espaciales, socioeconómicas y culturales, señaló Paula Gómez, curadora de la exposición y directora de la Galería ASR Contemporáneo Arte San Ramón.
Las propuestas seleccionadas para “Urban Issues” revelan una particular poética de lo real ya que reflexionan en torno a las superposiciones actuales entre elementos del desarrollo urbano formal e informal, el desarrollo arquitectónico vertical, las alteraciones en la naturaleza del espacio público y privado, las interacciones del individuo con su entorno íntimo, con la ciudad, la justicia espacial, la movilidad y las condiciones ambientales, entre otras.
Este importante evento expositivo de los artistas citados está concebido con carácter multidisciplinar donde pintura, dibujo, instalación y medios mixtos estarán en función de establecer un diálogo abierto con el público que estará inmerso en una experiencia sensorial única.
Los tres artistas poseen una importante trayectoria artística nacional e internacional, destancándose en su posesionamiento a nivel internacional: Angel Urrely participó en la en la Exposición Colectiva RELOCATED: Contemporary Cuban Art en El Barrio’s ArtSpace PS 109, New York. Limber Vilorio fue seleccionado para participar en la Exposición “Relational Undercurrents: Contemporary Art of the Caribbean Archipielago Exhibition” en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Los Angeles y José Almonte fue nuevamente invitado a la Beijing International Art Biennale, China.
La exposición cuenta con un interesante programa didáctico que se desarrollará a partir del miércoles 13 de junio con un Conversatorio sobre el Arte Urbano con la participación de los tres artistas y la curadora Paula Gómez Jorge. La exposición Urban Issues estará abierta al público hasta el 6 de julio de 2018.

“Urban Issues” exhibition of three contemporary artists at
ASR Gallery Contemporary Art San Ramón
SANTO DOMINGO, DN- ASR Gallery Contemporary Art San Ramón announces the Urban Issues Exhibition, by artists Angel Urrely, José Almonte and Limber Vilorio, to be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Galería Arte San Ramón Contemporáneo, to benefit the Foundation Friends Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.
The Friends Against Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc. (FACCI) is a nonprofit organization in the Dominican Republic, committed to improving the living conditions of children with cancer, with limited financial resources. Volunteering of the Friends Against Childhood Cancer Foundation is born from the interest of offering support and companionship to children and their families to face and cope better with treatment.
Arte San Ramón together with the artists Angel Urrely, José Almonte and Limber Vilorio will donate works of their authorship to the Facci Foundation, highlighting the growing commitment of the Gallery and the artists to social issues and in particular to the fight against Cancer.
This exhibition “Urban Issues” reflects the gaze of these three young contemporary artists Angel Urrely, José Almonte and Limber Vilorio, who address from their visual proposals the particular and collective relationships that operate between urban settings, their current evolution and the ways of life of individuals in the Caribbean geographical context, its spatial, socio-economic and cultural dimensions, said Paula Gómez, curator of the exhibition and director of the ASR Contemporary Art Gallery San Ramón.
The proposals selected for “Urban Issues” reveal a particular poetics of the real as they reflect on the current superimpositions between elements of formal and informal urban development, vertical architectural development, alterations in the nature of public and private space, interactions of the individual with their intimate environment, with the city, spatial justice, mobility and environmental conditions, among others.
This important exhibition event of the aforementioned artists is conceived in a multidisciplinary way where painting, drawing, installation and mixed media will be in function to establish an open dialogue with the public that will be immersed in a unique sensory experience.
The three artists have an important national and international artistic career, standing out in their international positioning: Angel Urrely participated in the Collective Exhibition RELOCATED: Contemporary Cuban Art in El Barrio’s ArtSpace PS 109, New York. Limber Vilorio was selected to participate in the exhibition “Relational Undercurrents: Contemporary Art of the Caribbean Archipelago Exhibition” at the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles and José Almonte was again invited to the Beijing International Art Biennale, China.
The exhibition has an interesting didactic program that will be developed from Wednesday, June 13 with a talk about Urban Art with the participation of the three artists and the curator Paula Gómez Jorge. The Urban Issues exhibition will be open to the public until July 6, 2018.
