Desde febrero del 2012, los amantes de las artes visuales tienen el primer sábado de cada mes una cita en el Museo Bellapart.
Se trata de la Tertulia sabatina: Una obra, un artista, encuentro periódico que hasta el presente ha mantenido el entusiasmo que comparten invitados y asistentes.
La tertulia surgió con el propósito inicial de incentivar el acercamiento a los artistas dominicanos, a través del análisis de obras exhibidas en la muestra permanente del Museo Bellapart. Se proponía este encuentro compartir datos y anécdotas, en una práctica que destacara la formación y cotidianidad de sus autores, para ayudar a los participantes a descubrir las búsquedas y realizaciones del artista y encontrar al ser humano detrás de cada obra de arte.
A lo largo de este recorrido, hemos tenido el privilegio de dialogar cara a cara con maestros que hoy ya no están entre nosotros, como Soucy de Pellerano, Ramón Oviedo, Aquiles Azar, Ángel Haché y Danilo de los Santos. También con maestros en pleno ejercicio y vitalidad como Ada Balcácer, José Cestero, Thimo Pimentel, Elsa Núñez y Rosa Tavárez, reconocidos con el Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas, y con figuras paradigmáticas en nuestra historia del arte, como don Justo Liberato, pionero de la curaduría y la museografía en la República Dominicana.
En otras ocasiones, nos han enriquecido con sus vivencias y anécdotas artistas de gran trayectoria, como Eridania Mir, Jorge Severino, Manuel Montilla y Alonso Cuevas, quienes han desvelado muchos de los escollos superados a lo largo de sus exitosas carreras, y hemos escuchado de familiares, críticos y amigos de infancia relatos acerca de la vida de muchos artistas con detalles desconocidos hasta ese momento.
Ha sido presentada la obra y vida de maestros del arte nacional, tales como Leopoldo Navarro, Gilberto Hernández Ortega, Paul Giudicelli, Gaspar Mario Cruz, Antonio Prats Ventós, Luichy Martínez Richiez, Guillo Pérez y Cándido Bidó, donde hemos contado con la colaboración muy valiosa de sus familiares, colegas y amigos en espacios llenos de remembranzas e informaciones significativas.
También hemos ayudado a descubrir artistas menos conocidos en el panorama nacional, como Roberto Ossaye y Benjamín Saúl, ambos con importantes carreras desarrolladas en Guatemala y El Salvador, respectivamente, y de quienes posee la Colección Bellapart obras importantes.
La tertulia del Museo Bellapart ha evolucionado en el tiempo y ha incorporado variantes como conmemoraciones de fechas capitales en el panorama artístico nacional. Así celebramos tertulias especiales dedicadas a la mujer artista, la arquitectura y la fotografía dominicanas, que nos han permitido diversificar nuestro espectro y tratar temas de mucha actualidad.
En mayo de 2015, la tertulia incorporó la estrategia de salir de su espacio propio y trasladarse a otros museos y galerías de arte de Santo Domingo, donde se exhiban exposiciones significativas. En ese sentido, se han realizado tertulias en la Galería Nacional de Bellas Artes – Celeste Woss y Gil, Fernando Peña, espacio cerámico, Ángel Haché y en el Museo Fernando Peña Defilló –Fermín Ceballos. Así mismo, se ha incentivado un acercamiento al arte contemporáneo dominicano con encuentros sostenidos en las galerías Lyle O’Reitzel Arte Contemporáneo y Arte San Ramón Contemporáneo, donde hemos propiciado la aproximación a la obra de los artistas Scherezade García, José Almonte, Ángel Urrely y Limber Vilorio, hasta ese momento poco conocidos para muchos de los participantes.
En julio de 2017, se integró el encuentro con artistas dominicanos que viven y trabajan en diversos lugares para romper la idea errada de que solo en Santo Domingo trabajan nuestros creadores y, al mismo tiempo, para promocionar a artistas destacados que realizan su obra en otros espacios. Raúl Morilla, de La Vega; Fausto Ortiz, de Santiago, y Scherezade García, de Nueva York, han deslumbrado a los asiduos a la tertulia del Bellapart con sus participaciones.
A lo largo de estos años, la tertulia sabatina del Museo Bellapart ha contado con el apoyo de críticos como Marianne de Tolentino, Abil Peralta Agüero, José Saldaña, Amable López Meléndez, Carlos Acero y César Iván Feris Iglesias, entre otros. Se trata de una actividad gratuita dirigida a adolescentes y adultos, donde dialogan artistas, críticos, familiares y relacionados de los artistas tratados en cada ocasión, en un espacio ameno y abierto, que ofrece cada mes la oportunidad de hacer un alto en la vorágine de la vida en la ciudad para alimentar nuestra sensibilidad y crecer en el conocimiento y admiración hacia los valores de nuestro patrimonio artístico.

The Saturday party at the Bellapart. A WORK, AN ARTIST AN OPEN WINDOW TO DOMINICAN ART
Since February 2012, lovers of visual arts have an appointment at the Bellapart Museum on the first Saturday of every month.
It is about the Tertulia sabatina: A work, an artist, a newspaper meeting that up to the present has maintained the enthusiasm shared by guests and attendees.
The gathering began with the initial purpose of encouraging the approach to Dominican artists, through the analysis of works exhibited in the permanent exhibition of the Bellapart Museum. This meeting was proposed to share data and anecdotes, in a practice that highlights the training and daily life of its authors, to help participants discover the searches and achievements of the artist and find the human being behind each work of art.
Throughout this journey, we have had the privilege of talking face to face with teachers who are no longer with us today, such as Soucy de Pellerano, Ramón Oviedo, Aquiles Azar, Ángel Haché and Danilo de los Santos. Also with teachers in full exercise and vitality as Ada Balcácer, José Cestero, Thimo Pimentel, Elsa Núñez and Rosa Tavárez, recognized with the National Prize of Plastic Arts, and with paradigmatic figures in our history of art, as don Justo Liberato, pioneer of curatorship and museography in the Dominican Republic.
On other occasions, they have enriched us with their experiences and anecdotes artists of great experience, such as Eridania Mir, Jorge Severino, Manuel Montilla and Alonso Cuevas, who have uncovered many of the obstacles overcome during their successful careers, and we have heard from relatives, critics and friends of childhood stories about the lives of many artists with details unknown until that moment.
The work and life of national art teachers has been presented, such as Leopoldo Navarro, Gilberto Hernández Ortega, Paul Giudicelli, Gaspar Mario Cruz, Antonio Prats Ventós, Luichy Martínez Richiez, Guillo Pérez and Cándido Bidó, where we have had the collaboration of valuable of their relatives, colleagues and friends in spaces full of remembrances and significant information.
We have also helped to discover less known artists in the national scene, such as Roberto Ossaye and Benjamín Saúl, both with important careers developed in Guatemala and El Salvador, respectively, and of those who own the Bellapart Collection, important works.
The gathering of the Bellapart Museum has evolved over time and has incorporated variants such as commemorations of capital dates in the national artistic panorama. This is how we celebrate special gatherings dedicated to women artists, architecture and Dominican photography, which have allowed us to diversify our spectrum and deal with very topical issues.
In May 2015, the gathering incorporated the strategy of leaving its own space and moving to other museums and art galleries in Santo Domingo, where significant exhibitions are exhibited. In that sense, gatherings have been held at the National Gallery of Fine Arts - Celeste Woss and Gil, Fernando Peña, ceramic space, Angel Haché and Fernando Peña Defilló Museum-Fermín Ceballos. Likewise, an approach to Dominican contemporary art has been encouraged with sustained encounters in the Lyle O'Reitzel Contemporary Art and San Ramón Contemporary Art galleries, where we have encouraged the approach to the work of the artists Scherezade García, José Almonte, Ángel Urrely and Limber Vilorio, until then little known to many of the participants.
In July 2017, the meeting was integrated with Dominican artists who live and work in different places to break the misconception that only in Santo Domingo our creators work and, at the same time, to promote outstanding artists who perform their work in other spaces. Raúl Morilla, from La Vega; Fausto Ortiz, from Santiago, and Scheherazade García, from New York, have dazzled the regulars at the Bellapart gathering with their participation.
Throughout these years, the Saturday gathering of the Bellapart Museum has had the support of critics such as Marianne de Tolentino, Abil Peralta Agüero, José Saldaña, Amable López Meléndez, Carlos Acero and César Iván Feris Iglesias, among others. It is a free activity aimed at adolescents and adults, where artists, critics, relatives and related of the artists treated on each occasion, in a pleasant and open space, which offers every month the opportunity to stop at the vortex of life in the city to feed our sensibility and grow in knowledge and admiration towards the values of our artistic heritage.
