Tovar alphabet
El alfabeto de Iván Tovar nace, como toda su obra, de la fusión metamórfica de seres, cuyo repertorio de configuraciones puede multiplicarse “ad infinitum”, exactamente igual que la vida, exactamente igual que el lenguaje, que nos hace humanos. Él ha sabido ver esa coincidencia entre vida, con sus formas orgánicas, y lenguaje, con sus formas simbólicas, y ha hecho una síntesis en su singular abecedario, con el que crea novedosos ideogramas, dónde geometría y naturaleza se encuentran. Así, la A es un triángulo hecho de carne fresca de aurora y las volutas de la B suman senos y colas. La C es un cuenco de crustáceo. La D se abulta en maternal vientre. La E estira al espacio sus tres anhelos. La cola de un delfín se yergue en arco para formar la F. En la H se cogen del ganchete ella y él, felizmente enfrentados. Sobre la pirámide invertida y hueca de la I flota una gota y le salen escamas y aletas. El caracol y el pólipo se unen para formar la G. Un gusano caracoleando configura la J. El ángulo de la L se hace seno de mujer. Y entre cola y pata encierra la M un busto femenino. Se quiebra en doble ángulo la N sobre una pata que remata en cola. Cierra su círculo la O, como un redondo fruto. La P tiene traza de arborescente tronco que desea ser dama. La S sinuosa en gusano. Se alza en prensil cola la T para abrazar una media luna. La U es un canal abierto por un gusano. Entre ave y pez anda la V. Se cruzan cuatro aletas para crear la X. Tiene la Y traza de pez voluptuoso. Estira la Z su cola sobre el suelo para erguirse después en afilado pico. Y hasta aquí, los iconos de la serigrafía, pero el imaginario Tovar tiene otras variantes y el juego combinatorio podría continuar sin fin.
Iván Tovar's alphabet is born, like all his work, from the metamorphic fusion of beings, whose repertoire of configurations can multiply “ad infinitum”, exactly like life, exactly like language, which makes us human. He has known how to see that coincidence between life, with its organic forms, and language, with its symbolic forms, and has made a synthesis in its unique alphabet, with which it creates novel ideograms, where geometry and nature meet. Thus, A is a triangle made of fresh aurora meat and the scrolls of B add breasts and tails. C is a shellfish bowl. The D bulges into the maternal womb. The E stretches its three longings into space. The tail of a dolphin arches to form the F. In the H, she and he are caught happily facing each other. A drop floats on the inverted and hollow pyramid of the I and scales and fins emerge. The snail and the polyp unite to form the G. A caterpillar worm shapes the J. The angle of the L becomes a woman's breast. And between tail and leg the M encloses a female bust. The N is broken in a double angle on a leg that ends in a tail. The circle closes the O, like a round fruit. The P has a trace of a tree trunk that wants to be a lady. The sinuous S in worm. The T is raised in a prehensile tail to embrace a crescent. The U is a channel opened by a worm. Between bird and fish the V walks. Four fins are crossed to create the X. It has the Y trace of a voluptuous fish. The Z stretches its tail on the ground, then stands tall in a sharp beak. And so far, the silkscreen icons, but the imaginary Tovar has other variants and the combinatorial game could continue without end.
