“Niebla Rosa, Nave Azul”, viaje introspectivo de Melissa Mejía en busca de la
sanación a través de escenas optimistas que la ayudan a reafirmar su fe ante la
bondad, de que mañana siempre habrá un mundo nuevo por descubrir.

Melissa “tira del comics”, steampunk, lo kitsch y el “surrealismo pop” en un viaje al
pasado con todo el linaje renacentista, en su transformación y visión a partir de
apagar sus 15 velas en un paseo al Metropolitan de New York, que un tiempo
después lo re-imagina y, en su proceso de formación y construcción como artista, se
ve a ella misma en estas miradas robotizadas atrapadas en sus “blossom girls”, y
con ellas salir de lugares comunes.
En un principio, como creadora, quizás no era consciente del porqué estas mujeres
son como son, y con el tiempo fue descubriendo un propósito: no querer definir lo
que era la belleza, sino más bien crear un espacio de silencio y asombro a través de
ellas, mujeres de una belleza amoral, rabiosamente féminas y comprometiéndose a
una percepción sinestésica, en donde la heroína ha escapado de la guillotina desde
el mismo Palacio de Versalles para aterrizar y encontrarse en su propio mundo,
como un espejo en formato calidoscópico que revelan el pasado, presente y futuro.
Este cuerpo de trabajo, minuciosamente detallista, en el que 1,200 horas en una
obra no bastan para dejar el alma en su fantasía por liberar estas figuras femeninas,
que llevan el control de la nave y, sobre ella, explora nuevos territorios entre
flamboyanes y rosas de bayahibe.
“I’m Back, baby (el musical)”, una referencia a ella misma que resulta ser
contradictoria, porque Melissa nunca se ha ido, siempre ha estado en la memoria
colectiva de los que siempre han amado su arte; y es que desde la oscuridad se
encontró con la luz, tras una transmutación interna de la recopilación visual de su
universo, entre objetos, circunstancias y lugares que la han cautivado durante toda
su vida.

“Pink Mist, Blue Nave”, Melissa Mejía's introspective journey in search of healing through optimistic scenes that help her reaffirm her faith in goodness, that tomorrow there will always be a new world to discover.
Melissa “draws comics”, steampunk, kitsch and “pop surrealism” in a trip to the past with the entire Renaissance lineage, in her transformation and vision from blowing out her 15 candles on a walk to the New York Metropolitan, which Some time later she re-imagines it and, in her process of training and construction as an artist, she sees herself in these robotic gazes trapped in her “blossom girls”, and with them leaving common places.
