El V Congreso internacional de artistas visuales dominicanos se abre a la creación de la ambigüedad en muchos términos urgentes en la universalidad artística contemporánea, gestándose cuando los registros de tendencias y acciones creadoras se convierten en imágenes críticas del mundo social y cultural. El arte no es sólo lenguaje, técnica o producto, sino más bien, cuerpo, sentido, trayecto visible y sensible, atravesado por una estética y construcción significante.
El grado alcanzado por las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas, produce en contexto y significación, mundos que han sido pensados como orientación metaestéticas y narrativas transgresoras sustentadas por sujetos libertarios comprometidos con una idea fundadora y, sobre todo, repensados por críticos, creadores , gestores culturales y educadores artísticos que se acogen a una determinada practica de creación y discurso institucional donde la conciencia estética y critica eleva las voces por un arte original en los tiempos actuales, en una fusión de artes visuales y tecnología.
Entre las artes visuales, la escultura como arte tradicional permanece como una de las manifestaciones artísticas que más ha evolucionado a lo largo del siglo XX. Ofreciendo una percepción multisensorial del espacio, promovida por el surgimiento del género de la “instalación” como medio de expresión artística.
En los últimos años estas concepciones proponen nuevas formas de comunicación, producción, reproducción y creación desde la alta modernidad. Lo que a su vez implica una estética integradora y plural orientadas a la relación obra-sujeto-lenguaje.
Es así como el 5to Congreso de Artistas Plásticos absorbe una variedad de artistas y productos con fuerzas de interpretación y creación donde la diversidad se constituye como relación entre sujetos, contextos y productividades. En esta ocasión hacemos homenaje al artista y creador Bismarck Victoria, considerado por Abil Peralta Agüero, como una personalidad creativa de celebrada trayectoria creativa, sus obras se imponen visualmente en el espacio urbano, provenientes de su libertad creadora propia del arte y los juegos inherentes a la inteligencia y a la razón.
Como artista, utiliza instrumentos provistos por la ciencia y la tecnología avanzadas para lograr fines altamente creativos y de gran presencia y plasticidad, se requiere una mirada con detenimiento al misterio que encierra su realización.
El V Congreso de Artistas Plásticas Dominicanos se orienta y organiza sobre la base de intencionalidades acogidas como fragmentos, formas de lenguaje, concepciones de lo artístico, presencias reales del artista, lugares del sentido, de la interpretación del artista dominicano con sus herramientas de trabajo y sobre todo con sus niveles de apertura creacional en base a la coyuntura de nuevos discursos, tensiones y temas producidos por cardinales imaginarias y posibles de memoria e interpretación; lo que implica en nuestro caso un avance hacia nuevas formas de pensar la creación artístico-visual, como tensión de los significados al interior de los espacios de producción y recepción de imágenes en la era de mundialización.
Los adelantos técnicos, la accesibilidad a la información y la libertad de la forma sugieren gran variedad de formas en el plano de las creaciones artísticas, o de una escultura o en el espacio de una instalación.
En Puerto Rico, país invitado, encontramos a maestros del arte contemporáneo, con obras de alcance internacional.
Desde la Universidad Autónoma de Santo domingo, el Decanato de la Facultad de Artes, les invitamos a participar del 5to. Congreso de Artistas Visuales para culminar con esta nueva versión del evento destinado a un discurso reflexivo y analítico sobre los temas comprendidos en una ¨Mirada y convergencia de las artes visuales en la contemporaneidad. Un enfoque a la tridimensionalidad¨.

The V International Congress of Dominican visual artists is open to the creation of ambiguity in many urgent terms in contemporary artistic universality, taking place when the registers of trends and creative actions become critical images of the social and cultural world. Art is not just language, technique or product, but rather, body, sense, visible and sensitive path, crossed by an aesthetic and significant construction.
The degree reached by contemporary artistic practices, produces in context and meaning, worlds that have been thought as a meta-aesthetic orientation and transgressive narratives supported by libertarian subjects committed to a founding idea and, above all, rethought by critics, creators, cultural managers and educators artists who embrace a certain practice of creation and institutional discourse where the aesthetic and critical conscience elevates the voices for an original art in the current times, in a fusion of visual arts and technology.
Among the visual arts, sculpture as traditional art remains one of the artistic manifestations that has evolved the most throughout the 20th century. Offering a multisensory perception of space, promoted by the emergence of the genre of "installation" as a means of artistic expression.
In the last years these conceptions propose new forms of communication, production, reproduction and creation from the high modernity. Which in turn implies an integrative and plural aesthetic oriented to the work-subject-language relationship. This is how the 5th Congress of Plastic Artists absorbs a variety of artists and products with interpretation and creation forces where diversity is constituted as a relationship between subjects, contexts and productivities. On this occasion we pay homage to the artist and creator Bismarck Victoria, considered by Abil Peralta Agüero, as a creative personality of celebrated creative trajectory, his works are imposed visually in the urban space, coming from his own creative freedom of art and the games inherent in intelligence and reason. As an artist, he uses instruments provided by advanced science and technology to achieve highly creative ends and great presence and plasticity, it requires a careful look at the mystery that surrounds its realization.
The V Congress of Dominican Plastic Artists is oriented and organized on the basis of intentions received as fragments, forms of language, conceptions of the artistic, real presences of the artist, places of meaning, the interpretation of the Dominican artist with his tools of work and especially with its levels of creational openness based on the conjuncture of new discourses, tensions and themes produced by imaginary cardinals and possible ones of memory and interpretation; what implies in our case an advance towards new ways of thinking the artistic-visual creation, as tension of the meanings within the spaces of production and reception of images in the era of globalization. The technical advances, the accessibility to the information and the freedom of the form suggest a great variety of forms in the plane of the artistic creations, or of a sculpture or in the space of an installation. In Puerto Rico, guest country, we find masters of contemporary art, with works of international scope.
From the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, we invite you to participate in the 5th. Congress of Visual Artists to culminate with this new version of the event destined to a reflective and analytical discourse on the topics included in a ¨Mirada and convergence of the visual arts in the contemporaneity.
