Con el apoyo del Banco Popular, la Facultad de Artes y la Escuela de Crítica e Historia del Arte de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), pusieron en circulación la Revista Artelia, un homenaje a Danilo De los Santos (Danicel), en el Auditorio Manuel del Cabral de la Biblioteca Pedro Mir.

La mesa de honor estuvo integrada por Antonio Medina Calcaño, vicerrector de Extensión, en representación de la doctora Emma Polanco Melo, rectora UASD; Enid Gil, viceministra de Extensión del Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología (MESCYT); Eugenio Pérez Montás, director General de la Ciudad Colonial; Dione Rufino y Arelis Subero, decano y vicedecana de la Facultad de Artes, respectivamente.

Asimismo, Fidel Munnigh y Odalís G. Pérez Nina, directores de las escuelas de Crítica e Historia del Arte y de Cine, Televisión y Fotografías de la UASD, respectivamente; María Elena Ditrén, docente y directora del Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM); Rosa Tavárez, artista visual y maestra; Wenceslao De los Santos, en representación de la familia del artista visual, crítico de arte, curador, historiador, animador cultural y docente artista Danilo De los Santos.

Al dirigirse a los invitados, Munnigh agradeció a los presentes por acompañarlo a tan significativo evento, para la Escuela de Crítica e Historia del Arte, de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad estatal, como es rendir un homenaje a la memoria de su autor Danicel con el auspicio de esta primera impresión del libro que es el primer número de la revista Artelia.

Asimismo, reconoció al Banco Popular Dominicano por auspiciar la investigación y la diagramación de Artelia; y al Doctor Pérez Nina por fungir de comisario, director general, corrector y encargado del cuidado de edición.

Posteriormente, el reconocido investigador, educador y crítico de arte, Doctor Odalís Pérez Nina, encargado de la edición del libro, destacó que Artelia es una revista de arte, literatura y cultura que Danilo de los Santos, directo y fundador dejó como un legado de la identidad dominicana-

Danicel, animador cultural y docente, se encontraba dándole los últimos toques al libro cuando la muerte lo sorprendió a destiempo.

Manifestó: “Artelia es una memoria del arte dominicano, donde su autor Danicel intenta una visión globalizadora más significativa que enciclopédica, sobre todo una memoria de la identidad nacional”.

Consideró que este libro–revista surge con una fuerza desde su fundación garantizada por el respaldo científico y cultural como un instrumento de trabajo para estudiantes, especialistas, profesores y personas ligadas al arte y la cultura dominicanos.

El equipo editorial de Artelia lo integran Fernando Cabrera, editor; Luis Pérez, coordinador; Odalís G. Pérez Nina, corrección y cuidado de edición; Fausto Ortiz, foto de portada; y, en la diagramación y arte final Ana Svethania Gómez, junto a Tony Núñez en el diseño.

Amigo del Hogar tuvo a su cargo la primera impresión de la revista que cuenta con 400 páginas satinadas a color y una portada en tapa dura, que contiene una interesante recopilación de artículos e imágenes de connotados críticos de artes y artistas contemporáneos.

En su primera presentación la revista contempla como temas principales: “La sangre en otro contexto”, “En toda la República entre el retrato y el autorretrato”, “Escultura”, “Entrevista”, “Exposiciones individuales”, “H.R.Suriel”, “Premios Nacionales”, “Letras” y “Artes Plásticas”. Así como también “Bienales y concursos”, “Crónica de la memoria”, “Letras de aquí y de allá” y “Exposiciones colectivas y retrospectivas”, estos a su vez están divididos en una selección de artículos.

La revista está a la venta a través de la Fundación Danilo De los Santos, dirigida por Luis Córdoba.

Al acto asistieron distinguidas personalidades del ámbito literario, educativo y de las artes visuales.

With the support of Banco Popular, the Faculty of Arts and the School of Criticism and Art History of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), they put into circulation the Artelia Magazine, a tribute to Danilo De los Santos (Danicel), in the Manuel del Cabral Auditorium of the Pedro Mir Library.

The table of honor was integrated by Antonio Medina Calcaño, vice-chancellor of Extension, in representation of the doctor Emma Polanco Melo, rector UASD; Enid Gil, Deputy Minister of Extension of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT); Eugenio Pérez Montás, General Director of the Colonial City; Dione Rufino and Arelis Subero, dean and vice-dean of the Faculty of Arts, respectively.

Also, Fidel Munnigh and Odalís G. Pérez Nina, directors of the schools of Critic and History of Art and of Cinema, Television and Photographs of the UASD, respectively; María Elena Ditrén, teacher and director of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM); Rosa Tavárez, visual artist and teacher; Wenceslao De los Santos, representing the family of the visual artist, art critic, curator, historian, cultural animator and teacher artist Danilo De los Santos.

Addressing the guests, Munnigh thanked those present for accompanying him to such a significant event, for the School of Criticism and Art History, the Faculty of Arts of the State University, as is paying tribute to the memory of its author Danicel with the auspice of this first impression of the book that is the first issue of Artelia magazine.

He also recognized Banco Popular Dominicano for sponsoring Artelia's research and layout; and Dr. Pérez Nina for acting as commissioner, general director, proofreader and editor in charge of care.

Later, the renowned researcher, educator and art critic, Doctor Odalís Pérez Nina, in charge of the book's edition, stressed that Artelia is a journal of art, literature and culture that Danilo de los Santos, direct and founder, left as a legacy of Dominican identity-

Danicel, cultural animator and teacher, was giving the final touches to the book when death surprised him untimely.

He said: "Artelia is a memory of Dominican art, where its author Danicel tries a globalizing vision more significant than encyclopedic, especially a memory of national identity."

He considered that this book-magazine arises with a force from its foundation guaranteed by scientific and cultural support as a working tool for students, specialists, teachers and people linked to Dominican art and culture.

The editorial team of Artelia is composed of Fernando Cabrera, editor; Luis Pérez, coordinator; Odalís G. Pérez Nina, correction and editing care; Fausto Ortiz, cover photo; and, in the layout and final art, Ana Svethania Gómez, together with Tony Núñez in the design.

Friend of the Home was in charge of the first impression of the magazine that has 400 satiny pages in color and a cover in hardcover, which contains an interesting collection of articles and images of renowned critics of contemporary arts and artists.

In its first presentation, the magazine considers as main themes: "Blood in another context", "Throughout the Republic between portraiture and self-portrait", "Sculpture", "Interview", "Individual exhibitions", "HRSuriel", "National Awards", "Letters" and "Plastic Arts". As well as "Biennials and competitions", "Chronicle of memory", "Letters here and there" and "Collective and retrospective exhibitions", these in turn are divided into a selection of articles.

The magazine is on sale through the Danilo De los Santos Foundation, directed by Luis Córdoba.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities from the literary, educational and visual arts fields.
