El multipremiado fotógrafo y arquitecto dominicano Kelvin Naar será el invitado especial de la cuarta versión de la feria internacional Artforo, la cual tendrá lugar en el exuberante BlueMall de Punta Cana, del 14 al 20 de diciembre próximo.
Recientemente, Naar presentó la muestra Sincretismo en China, en la 19 versión del Festival Internacional de Fotografía de Pingyao, provincia de Shanxi, junto a unas 3 mil obras de artistas de todo el mundo.
Naar ha sido el primer y único criollo invitado a dicho festival, realizado desde 2001 en esa ciudad, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1997 por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO).
Por el éxito obtenido en la jornada artística, el dominicano fue convocado posteriormente al Festival Internacional de Fotografía de Baohe, provincia de Anhui, también en China.
“El ensayo visual Sincretismo, de Kelvin Naar, nos llega justo en medio la proclamación por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas del decenio dedicado a los afrodescendientes”, proclama el cubano Nelson Ramírez de Arellano, curador de la muestra «Líneas Rotas, un viaje a través de Centro América y el Caribe».
Desde República Dominicana, el educador, filólogo, poeta, ensayista, dramaturgo, crítico de arte, investigador y conferenciante Odalís G. Pérez observa que Naar capta, con su “pensamiento visual”, el mundo de la huella. “El rutario fotográfico de este artista es acertijo, brote, búsqueda de aquello que como génesis quiere mirar al otro, lo otro y lo vivo del instante”, afirma.
En tanto, Artforo 2020 busca incentivar la sensibilidad artística y promover el arte dominicano como marca país. Serán presentadas más de 50 exposiciones individuales, donde los creadores mostrarán sus más dinámicas, innovadoras y vibrantes propuestas. Es la primera vez que la iniciativa es abierta a nuevos medios de expresión, uniendo la fotografía a las siempre presentes pintura y escultura.
Artforo es una plataforma internacionalmente conocida que trabaja por el fortalecimiento de los valores artísticos y culturales de nuestra República Dominicana. Su próxima versión estará dedicada al artista Freddy Javier y además tendrá al afamado artista dominicano Jesús Desangles cómo invitado de honor.
Artforo 2020 incluirá conferencias, charlas y conversatorios con invitados especiales para motivar el intercambio de opiniones e ideas, yasí potenciar el mercado del arte en los circuitos internacionales más exigentes.
En la edición de diciembre próximo, serán abordados temas relacionados al coleccionismo y exhibidos reportajes de los artistas participantes más sobresalientes, entre ellos Kelvin Naar.

The multi-award winning Dominican photographer and architect Kelvin Naar will be the special guest of the fourth version of the Artforo international fair, which will take place in the exuberant BlueMall of Punta Cana, from December 14 to 20.
Recently, Naar presented the exhibition Syncretism in China, in the 19th version of the International Photography Festival in Pingyao, Shanxi province, along with some 3,000 works by artists from around the world.
Naar has been the first and only Creole invited to this festival, held since 2001 in that city, declared a World Heritage Site in 1997 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Due to the success obtained in the artistic day, the Dominican was later summoned to the Baohe International Photography Festival, Anhui province, also in China.
“The visual essay Sincretismo, by Kelvin Naar, comes to us right in the middle of the proclamation by the United Nations Organization of the decade dedicated to Afro-descendants”, proclaims the Cuban Nelson Ramírez de Arellano, curator of the exhibition “Broken Lines, a trip through Central America and the Caribbean ».
From the Dominican Republic, the educator, philologist, poet, essayist, playwright, art critic, researcher and lecturer Odalís G. Pérez observes that Naar captures, with his “visual thought”, the world of the imprint. "The photographic route of this artist is a riddle, a sprout, a search for that which, as genesis, wants to look at the other, the other, and the moment I live," he says.
Meanwhile, Artforo 2020 seeks to encourage artistic sensitivity and promote Dominican art as a country brand. More than 50 individual exhibitions will be presented, where the creators will show their most dynamic, innovative and vibrant proposals. It is the first time that the initiative is open to new means of expression, combining photography with the ever-present painting and sculpture.
Artforo is an internationally known platform that works to strengthen the artistic and cultural values of our Dominican Republic. Its next version will be dedicated to the artist Freddy Javier and will also have the famous Dominican artist Jesús Desangles as the guest of honor.
Artforo 2020 will include conferences, talks and conversations with special guests to encourage the exchange of opinions and ideas, and thus promote the art market in the most demanding international circuits.
In the next December edition, issues related to collecting will be addressed and reports from the most outstanding participating artists, including Kelvin Naar, will be exhibited.
