Falleció el artista plástico dominicano de origen francés Luis Felipe Félix "Cocó" Gontier (Burdeos, 1941).
Gontier fue un destacado serígrafo dominicano, reconocido junto a Alfredo Cordero como fundador del taller Serigrafía Artística en 1967.
Sus restos serán velados el domingo 2 de julio a partir de las 8:00 am, en la Funerario Blandino de la Av. Abraham Lincoln y partirán a las 3:30 pm hacia el Cementerio Cristo Redentor.
En 1966, obtuvo el tercer premio de pintura en el concurso E. León Jimenes y sus obras han sido expuestas tanto en el Museo de Arte Moderno como a nivel internacional.
En 2022, Gontier y Cordero realizaron la exposición "En el umbral del despegue" en el Centro Cultural de España, donde se presentaron algunas de sus obras.
Coco también fue cofundador del grupo Proyecta y autor de obras exhibidas en los principales museos dominicanos. Además, escribió el libro "Huellas de amor" junto a Guillermo Piña.
El taller Serigrafía Artística se encuentra ubicado en la calle Las Damas de la Ciudad Colonial.
¿Qué es la serigrafía?
La serigrafía es una técnica de reproducción de obras de arte que implica la multiplicación de un original a través de un proceso de transferencia. Existen diferentes tipos de reproducciones, y aunque las técnicas están en constante evolución, las más conocidas son el grabado, la litografía, la serigrafía, la fotografía y la lienzografía.

The prominent plastic artist Luis Felipe Félix Cocó Gontier dies

The Dominican plastic artist of French origin Luis Felipe Félix "Cocó" Gontier (Bordeaux, 1941) has died.
Gontier was a prominent Dominican serigrapher, recognized along with Alfredo Cordero as founder of the Artistic Serigraphy workshop in 1967.
His remains will be veiled on Sunday, July 2, starting at 8:00 am, at the Blandino Funeral Home on Av. Abraham Lincoln and will leave at 3:30 pm for the Cristo Redentor Cemetery.
In 1966, he won third prize for painting in the E. León Jimenes competition and his works have been exhibited both at the Museum of Modern Art and internationally.
In 2022, Gontier y Cordero held the exhibition "On the threshold of takeoff" at the Cultural Center of Spain, where some of his works were presented.
Coco was also a co-founder of the Proyecta group and author of works exhibited in the main Dominican museums. In addition, he wrote the book "Huellas de amor" together with Guillermo Piña.
The Artistic Serigraphy workshop is located on Las Damas street in the Colonial City.
