La Fundación de Arte Arawak se prepara para la celebración del 10vo Festival de Dibujo, del 20 al 31 de octubre, un evento cultural que, por su calidad, tanto en participación como en su presentación, se ha consolidado como uno de los festivales de arte más importante del país y el de mayor relevancia en su género en la región del Caribe.
El Festival de Dibujo es un evento cultural que se realiza con el propósito de fomentar e incentivar la producción del dibujo, estimular su coleccionismo y proyectarlo como el medio de expresión artístico de mayor riqueza visual.

La convocatoria es abierta e invita a artistas plásticos del país a participar con dibujos inéditos realizados en las técnicas de su preferencia. Para esta edición contamos con la participación de unos 40 artistas de diferentes generaciones, consagrados, así como como jóvenes emergentes. Cada artista participará con una carpeta con 8 dibujos realizados en formatos pequeños, en diferentes estilos y técnicas: tinta, carboncillo, acuarela, lápiz grafito, siempre utilizando el papel o cartulina como soporte.
Este año dedicaremos el Festival de Dibujo al artista Francis Victoria, fallecido recientemente. Francis fue un gran colaborador de nuestros festivales, participando activamente desde nuestros inicios en el año 2013, con sus maravillosas acuarelas sobre el tema de la Zona Colonial.
Francis Victoria fue un artista de importante trayectoria, manejó de forma magistral la técnica de la acuarela y dedicó gran parte de su producción a resaltar la sensualidad de la mujer a través de sus desnudos realizados en tinta y acuarela. Participó en varios concursos de arte del país: Bienal de Artes Visuales, Museo de Arte Moderno (1981) y Concurso de Arte E. León Jimenes (1994-1996), así como en importantes exposiciones colectivas, entre ellas: La Generación del 80, Voluntariado de las Casas Reales y Altos de Chavón (1983), 8 artistas de Cara el Nuevo Milenio, Altos de Chavón (1983), 21 Aniversario de Indotec (1996), “Mundos” en Casas de Teatro (2012), Subasta Anual Fundación de Corazón a Corazón (2012/13/14/15 y 2016).
Realizó varias exposiciones individuales: “Desnudos”, Casa de Teatro (2008), “Cayenas”, Casa de Teatro (2010) y “Entre el color y la forma”, Casa de Teatro (2014).
Como actividades complementarias, el 10vo Festival de Dibujo realizará un programa didáctico que incluye talleres de dibujo, así como diálogos y charlas sobre el dibujo y su importancia, con artistas participantes.
El Comité Organizador del 10vo Festival de Dibujo manifestó su regocijo por la celebración de este Festival de Dibujo, ya que durante diez años hemos recibido un gran respaldo de los artistas que apoyan este importante evento, así como de los medios de comunicación y los amantes del arte que disfrutan de un proyecto único, en el que, además de compartir con artistas, tienen la oportunidad de adquirir obras originales a muy buenos precios.
El Festival de Dibujo se realiza cada año en el mes de octubre con el propósito de darle continuidad a los programas de difusión, valoración y consolidación del dibujo que ha venido desarrollando por más de dos décadas la Fundación de Arte Arawak y el Museo del Dibujo Contemporáneo-MUDIC-.
El acto de inauguración es el viernes 20 de octubre a partir de las 6 de la tarde en la sala de exhibiciones de la Galería de Arte Arawak, ubicada en la calle Polibio Diaz No. 11, segundo nivel, Evaristo Morales. The Arawak Art Foundation is preparing to celebrate the 10th Drawing Festival, from October 20 to 31, a cultural event that, due to its quality, both in participation and presentation, has established itself as one of the art festivals most important in the country and the most relevant of its kind in the Caribbean region.
The Drawing Festival is a cultural event that is held with the purpose of promoting and encouraging the production of drawings, stimulating its collecting and projecting it as the most visually rich means of artistic expression.

The call is open and invites plastic artists from the country to participate with unpublished drawings made in the techniques of their preference. For this edition we have the participation of about 40 artists from different generations, established as well as emerging young people. Each artist will participate with a folder with 8 drawings made in small formats, in different styles and techniques: ink, charcoal, watercolor, graphite pencil, always using paper or cardboard as a support.
This year we will dedicate the Drawing Festival to the artist Francis Victoria, who recently passed away. Francis was a great collaborator of our festivals, actively participating since our beginnings in 2013, with his wonderful watercolors on the theme of the Colonial Zone.
Francis Victoria was an artist with an important career, he masterfully handled the watercolor technique and dedicated a large part of his production to highlighting the sensuality of women through his nudes done in ink and watercolor. He participated in several art competitions in the country: Biennial of Visual Arts, Museum of Modern Art (1981) and E. As complementary activities, the 10th Drawing Festival will carry out an educational program that includes drawing workshops, as well as dialogues and talks about drawing and its importance, with participating artists.
The Organizing Committee of the 10th Drawing Festival expressed its joy at the celebration of this Drawing Festival, since for ten years we have received great support from the artists who support this important event, as well as from the media and art lovers. art that enjoy a unique project, in which, in addition to sharing with artists, they have the opportunity to acquire original works at very good prices.
The Drawing Festival is held every year in the month of October with the purpose of giving continuity to the programs of dissemination, appreciation and consolidation of drawing that the Arawak Art Foundation and the Museum of Contemporary Drawing have been developing for more than two decades. -MUDIC-.
The opening ceremony is on Friday, October 20, starting at 6 pm in the exhibition hall of the Arawak Art Gallery, located at Polibio Diaz Street No. 11, second level, Evaristo Morales.
