Arte San Ramón y su galería de arte ASR Contemporáneo, inauguraron la exposición “Féminas, en tiempos de Melancolía”, de la artista visual contemporánea Laura Franco.
La artista, egresada de la Escuela de Diseño Altos de Chavón y quien profundiza en la técnica del collage y el arte digital, presentó su nuevo proyecto expositivo en el cual las Féminas continúan siendo protagonistas con un matiz de melancolía y de sueños, representando distintas realidades, relatos y personalidades que van formándose y cobrando vida, durante su proceso creativo.
Esta nueva muestra visual y de exploración estética presentada por Franco, se caracteriza por colores y sentimientos más densos, así como nuevos elementos representativos como las manos, que incorpora en sus féminas dando más poder y contraste a su obra, que reflejan el empoderamiento de la mujer y su vulnerabilidad a la vez.
“Mi arte convive en el mundo del collage, siendo una intersección entre la fotografía, el diseño gráfico y el estilismo de moda. Así se van formando las Féminas como una exaltación a la mujer, de valores y atributos que la hacen admirable: fortaleza, amor, delicadeza” -destacó la artista. “Las Féminas plantean mi visión de la mujer actual, valiente, soñadora, elegante, poderosa. Sin embargo, esta vez con un aire de melancolía, realizando estas obras en el contexto del año 2020 y sentimientos con los que aprendo a convivir, ante los retos que hemos afrontado como humanidad”- agregó
La curaduría y museografía de la exposición fue realizada por Carla Abusada, recopilando las obras en distintos formatos y tamaños, alusivas al tema que Franco explora desde hace años, que invitan al espectador a observar en una experiencia de inmersión y de interacción con las obras, a reflexiones particulares y colectivas relacionadas a la identidad de la mujer.
“Con un aire de magia, la obra de Laura Franco, es ver el otro lado del espejo. Se adentra por un territorio de sueños donde no hay más imaginación y sensaciones que la verdad de cada mujer. Como artista, experimenta sin límites, para comunicar un mensaje con discurso y piezas con carácter sobre la mujer de hoy. En estas obras, si bien prevalecen los colores sombríos este año,la artista ha creado un espacio vibrante en la Galería donde habitan estas obras, un universo de color para exponerlas, y dejarnos sentir la energía que para ella siempre debe prevalecer ante cualquier circunstancia’ – indicó Carla Abusada, curadora de la muestra.
La inauguración de la exposición fue realizada en un Soft- Opening, en el que se recibieron coleccionistas de arte y clientes por cita personal, guardando las medidas sanitarias y de distanciamiento. La exposición continuará abierta al público en ARTE SAN RAMÓN, quienes representan a la artista en el país, a través de su Galería ASR Contemporáneo dedicada a la exhibición de los lenguajes que definen las nuevas estéticas contemporáneas, apostando por el arte de estos tiempos.
Sobre Laura Franco
Diseñadora y artista visual dominicana. Realizó un Asociado en Arte y Formación, en La Escuela de Diseño Altos de Chavón, La Romana R.D y Maestría en Estilismo de Moda en el Instituto Marangoni en Milán, Italia. Actualmente vive y trabaja en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. The exhibition was held in the facilities of Galería ARTE SAN RAMON and will remain open to the public until November 30 of the current year, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturdays until 4:00 pm.
Santo Domingo. R.D- Arte San Ramón and its ASR Contemporáneo art gallery inaugurated the exhibition “Féminas, en tiempo de Melancolía”, by contemporary visual artist Laura Franco.
The artist, a graduate of the Altos de Chavón School of Design and who delves into the technique of collage and digital art, presented her new exhibition project in which Females continue to be protagonists with a tinge of melancholy and dreams, representing different realities , stories and personalities that are formed and come to life, during his creative process.
This new visual and aesthetic exploration sample presented by Franco, is characterized by denser colors and feelings, as well as new representative elements such as hands, which he incorporates in his females giving more power and contrast to his work, which reflect the empowerment of the woman and her vulnerability at the same time.
“My art coexists in the world of collage, being an intersection between photography, graphic design and fashion styling. Thus the Females are being formed as an exaltation of women, of values and attributes that make them admirable: strength, love, delicacy ”-the artist emphasized. “Las Féminas present my vision of the current woman, brave, dreamy, elegant, powerful. However, this time with an air of melancholy, performing these works in the context of the year 2020 and feelings with which I learn to live, given the challenges we have faced as humanity "- he added
The curatorship and museography of the exhibition was carried out by Carla Abusada, compiling the works in different formats and sizes, alluding to the theme that Franco has been exploring for years, inviting the viewer to observe in an experience of immersion and interaction with the works, to individual and collective reflections related to the identity of women.

As an artist, she experiments without limits, to communicate a message with speech and pieces with character about the woman of today. In these works, although dark colors prevail this year, the artist has created a vibrant space in the Gallery where these works live, a universe of color to expose them, and let us feel the energy that for her must always prevail in any circumstance ' - indicated Carla Abusada, curator of the exhibition.
The opening of the exhibition was held in a Soft-Opening, in which art collectors and clients were received by personal appointment, keeping the sanitary and distancing measures. The exhibition will continue to be open to the public at ARTE SAN RAMON, who represent the artist in the country, through her ASR Contemporáneo Gallery dedicated to the exhibition of the languages that define the new contemporary aesthetics, betting on the art of these times.
About Laura Franco
Dominican designer and visual artist. She completed an Associate in Art and Training at the Altos de Chavón School of Design, La Romana R.D and a Master's in Fashion Styling at the Marangoni Institute in Milan, Italy. She currently lives and works in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
