CONEXIÓN
La República Dominicana participa en la XVII Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura de Venecia 2021 con el proyecto CONEXIÓN, una propuesta de la curadora Roberta Semeraro y la arquitecta y artista Lidia León, con la participación de los destacados profesionales en diversas disciplinas: Juan Miguel Pérez, Jesús D’Alessandro, Alex Martínez Suárez, Michelle Valdez, Shaney Peña Gómez, Mizoocky Mota, Yomayra Martinó, Carmen Ortega González, Ching Ling Ho, Sara Hermann, Virginia Flores-Sasso, Elia Mariel Martínez, Lissette Gil, Romina Santroni, Maribel Villalona, Melisa Vargas, Rafael Selman, Dante Luna, Javier Pérez, José Marion-Landais, Alejandro Marranzini, Carlos Aguilar, Liza Ortega, Keith Thomas, Laura Troncoso, Santiago Camarena, Yaqui Núñez, Orisell Medina-Lagrange y Julia Vicioso.

CONEXIÓN es una instalación de diseño de interior de LiLeón llena de simbolismo, inspirada en la filosofía Wabi-sabi y en nuestro vínculo con la Madre Tierra, que forma parte de un proyecto dinámico, vivo, ofreciendo espacios de encuentros en República Dominicana y en Venecia.
A partir de la pregunta que lanzó el curador de la Bienal de Venecia Hashim Sarkis ¿Cómo viviremos juntos?, CONEXIÓN recoge los diálogos sobre la ética de la convivencia, urbanismo y hábitat, cultura y patrimonio, turismo y sostenibilidad en una serie de audiovisuales producidos por Mario García Haya, con la participación de más de 25 dominicanos especialistas en arquitectura, sociología, urbanismo, patrimonio cultural, medioambiente y turismo sostenible.
La instalación CONEXIÓN de la serie Wabi-sabi está compuesta por paneles hechos con hojas de tabaco, crea un espacio vivo y dinámico, y los visitantes pueden reconocer la infinita red de relaciones que crea el tejido de la sociedad y redescubrir su propia conexión con la naturaleza. El diseño está inspirado en los vitrales antiguos de la iglesia anglicana de Saint George que acoge el pabellón dominicano, un símbolo distintivo de la gran tradición artística y artesanal de Venecia.

El pabellón dominicano en la bienal de Venecia estará abierto al público de martes a domingo, 10:00 - 18:00 hasta el 21 de noviembre de 2021. Está ubicado en la iglesia de Saint George en el Campo San Vio, próximo a la colección Peggy Guggenheim.

Se desarrollará entre mayo y noviembre un programa de actividades colaterales que promueven los diálogos de CONEXIÓN en torno a la pregunta ¿Cómo viviremos juntos?

CONNECTION

CONEXIÓN is an interior design installation by LiLeón full of symbolism, inspired by the Wabi-sabi philosophy and our bond with Mother Earth, which is part of a dynamic, living project, offering meeting spaces in the Dominican Republic and Venice .
Based on the question raised by the curator of the Venice Biennale Hashim Sarkis How will we live together ?, CONEXIÓN gathers the dialogues on the ethics of coexistence, urban planning and habitat, culture and heritage, tourism and sustainability in a series of audiovisuals produced by Mario García Haya, with the participation of more than 25 Dominican specialists in architecture, sociology, urban planning, cultural heritage, environment and sustainable tourism.
The CONNECTION installation of the Wabi-sabi series is composed of panels made with tobacco leaves, creates a living and dynamic space, and visitors can recognize the infinite network of relationships that the fabric of society creates and rediscover their own connection with the nature. The design is inspired by the ancient stained glass windows of the Anglican Church of Saint George that houses the Dominican pavilion, a distinctive symbol of the great artistic and craft tradition of Venice.

The Dominican pavilion at the Venice Biennale will be open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 - 18:00 until November 21, 2021. It is located in the Saint George church in Campo San Vio, next to the collection Peggy Guggenheim.
