El arte taíno está presente en los modos de vida de estos grupos. La cultura y todas sus manifestaciones se registran como testimonios o palabras vivas en cada utensilio de trabajo, objeto sagrado o de uso utilitario.
Por la fuerza de lo estético en la vida y la visión del mundo de los taínos, el arte se convierte en un lenguaje explicativo, en símbolos y signos de la vida y la muerte, de los mitos y creencias, de la inmediatez de los recursos alimenticios, en la simpleza de la vida cotidiana, y en la vitalidad que cada pieza transmite como huella de un pasado esplendoroso, convirtiéndolo en su propia historia y libro de sus crónicas más destacas, fortaleciendo su memoria social y reproduciendo sus cánones culturales fundamentales.
Sus hitos, sus hazañas y sus esperanzas son parte de su relación permanente con todo objeto, que no importando su uso, es capaz de socializar el sentimiento colectivo, al manejar patrones estéticos socialmente definidos que servían de guía al artista, reflejando el sentir del grupo.
