La Dirección General y la Galería Nacional de Bellas Artes presentarán, a partir del 28 de septiembre la exposición "CÁNDIDO BIDÓ SIEMPRE PRESENTE", antología retrospectiva dedicada a la memoria del más emblemático maestro del arte dominicano.
Se conmemora así el décimo aniversario del fallecimiento del gran artista, que donó a su ciudad natal de Bonao, el Centro Cultural y Museo Cándido Bidó.
Cándido Bidó, inconfundible en sus colores, sus temas y su estilo, fue el artista que más expuso individualmente en el extranjero. Sobre su obra, se escribieron cuatro monografías e incontables artículos y ensayos.
La exposición de Bellas Artes reúne más de 70 pinturas, dibujos y esculturas, prestados por la familia Bidó, coleccionistas e instituciones privadas, y el Museo de Arte Moderno. La muestra incluye también una importante documentación sobre la vida y la carrera del maestro.
El público podrá visitar diariamente la exposición en Bellas Artes, tomando todas las medidas de protección por las actuales circunstancias de salud.

CANDIDO BIDO,
1936 Bonao, 2011 Santo Domingo Cándido Bidó trabajó a temprana edad al mismo tiempo que estudiaba. Cursó su bachillerato en el Colegio Serafín de Asís (Santo Domingo) donde se evidenció su vocación por el arte. Ingresó en 1957 a la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes y se graduó en 1962. Ese mismo año hasta 1967, se desempeñó allí como profesor ayudante, y de 1967 a 1981 como titular. Renunció a las asignaturas de dibujo y artes aplicadas en 1981 para dedicarse a su propia academia, creada en 1977 y cerrada en 1985. Luego, él estuvo trabajando en el proyecto monumental de la Plaza Cultural Bonao y el Museo Cándido Bidó, organismo que no solamente inauguró y dirigió, pero que, hoy, sigue funcionando entre enseñanza y exposiciones.
También hizo, junto a su familia, la Fundación Bonao para la Cultura. De 1962 a 2010, Cándido Bidó nunca ha dejado de crear y exponer. Cultivó la pintura sobre tela y sobre papel el dibujo y la serigrafía- , sin que ignore la tercera dimensión –esculturas y objetos-. Es el artista dominicano que más ha expuesto en el exterior y ganado más premios y distinciones.. Su estilo, muy personal, abarcó un realismo social mezclado de expresionismo y un neo-fauvismo, estructurado, rico en colores, predominando el azul y el anaranjado. Un mensaje de paz, libertad, amor por la naturaleza y la humanidad, le ha identificado siempre. El corazón de Cándido Bidó dejó de latir en 2011. Viven su generosidad, su maestría y su memoria.

Retrospective anthology to the memory of the most emblematic master.

The General Directorate and the National Gallery of Fine Arts will present, starting on September 28, the exhibition "CÁNDIDO BIDÓ ALWAYS PRESENTE", a retrospective anthology dedicated to the memory of the most emblematic master of Dominican art.
This commemorates the tenth anniversary of the death of the great artist, who he donated to his hometown of Bonao, the Cándido Bidó Cultural Center and Museum.
Cándido Bidó, unmistakable in his colors, his themes and his style, was the artist who exhibited the most individually abroad. On his work, four monographs and countless articles and essays were written.
The Fine Arts exhibition brings together more than 70 paintings, drawings and sculptures, loaned by the Bidó family, private collectors and institutions, and the Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition also includes important documentation on the life and career of the teacher.
The public will be able to visit the Fine Arts exhibition on a daily basis, taking all protective measures due to current health circumstances.

CANDIDO BIDO,
1936 Bonao, 2011 Santo Domingo
Cándido Bidó worked at an early age while he was studying. He studied his baccalaureate at the Serafín de Asís School (Santo Domingo) where his vocation for art was evidenced. He entered the National School of Fine Arts in 1957 and graduated in 1962. That same year until 1967, he served there as an assistant professor, and from 1967 to 1981 as a tenured. He resigned from drawing and applied arts subjects in 1981 to dedicate himself to his own academy, created in 1977 and closed in 1985. Later, he was working on the monumental project of the Bonao Cultural Plaza and the Cándido Bidó Museum, an organization that not only he inaugurated and directed, but which, today, continues to function between teaching and exhibitions.
He also made, together with his family, the Bonao Foundation for Culture. From 1962 to 2010, Cándido Bidó has never stopped creating and exhibiting. He cultivated painting on canvas and drawing and serigraphy on paper - without ignoring the third dimension - sculptures and objects. He is the Dominican artist who has exhibited the most abroad and won the most awards and distinctions. His style, very personal, encompassed a social realism mixed with expressionism and neo-Fauvism, structured, rich in colors, predominantly blue and the orange one. A message of peace, freedom, love for nature and humanity, has always identified him. Cándido Bidó's heart stopped beating in 2011. They live his generosity, his expertise and his memory.
