¿Hasta cuándo?
Exposición en Arte Berri
La artista Patricia Mano Tolentino está presentando una muestra individual de pintura de 40 obras, titulada “¿Hasta cuándo?” a partir del martes 19 de octubre en la galería de Arte Berri, Ciudad Colonial, Santo Domingo. Es una representación real-imaginaria de la fauna amenazada, animales en peligro de extinción, tanto en la República Dominicana como en otros países y regiones del mundo. La artista nos advierte acerca de la desaparición progresiva de especies por la impronta del hombre.
Las obras nos enseñan una gran variedad de aves, mamíferos y reptiles, representados con fuerza y armonía de colores. “¿Hasta cuándo?” es una exposición que a la vez informa y seduce, alerta y emociona.

Ya es hora de luchar contra la indiferencia y la indolencia ante la desaparición del reino animal, en la era del “homo sapiens”.
Nuestro llamado progreso se impuso mediante asentamientos geográficos, pero el hombre se instalaba en contra de ese reino y no junto a él.
Tanta implantación ha llevado a que la mayoría de las especies, hoy en el siglo 21, están amenazadas en su existencia.
La agricultura, el desarrollo urbano, las infraestructuras dividiendo el territorio, así como la industrialización y sus desechos, han puesto en peligro a cada especie y sus funciones: alimentarse, reproducirse y migrar.
No podemos ignorar el deterioro del medio ambiente, al cual el ser humano se acostumbra relativamente, pero la fauna no se puede adaptar ni resistir, sufriendo horriblemente las consecuencias de esos cambios.
Antes de que desaparezcan los animales, grandes y pequeños, compañeros de nuestra vida, esta muestra quiere ser un manifiesto, contra el olvido, el abuso y las tinieblas.
Las obras expuestas pretenden contribuir a una toma de consciencia, más que oportuna, necesaria para evitar la caída en un abismo , el cual sería la desaparición anunciada de esa parte de la vida.
Todo comenzó con una obra, "Problemas ": tres aves -avefrías espinosas- eran las protagonistas de una historia de trío amoroso. Fruto de la imaginación. Una realidad. Las avefrías espinosas se (re)unen para proteger sus nidos de los predadores, amenaza constante que les impide reposar durante la incubación de los huevos.

Exhibition at Arte Berri
The artist Patricia Mano Tolentino is presenting an individual painting exhibition of 40 works, entitled "Until when?" starting Tuesday, October 19 at the Berri Art Gallery, Ciudad Colonial, Santo Domingo. It is a real-imaginary representation of threatened fauna, animals in danger of extinction, both in the Dominican Republic and in other countries and regions of the world. The artist warns us about the progressive disappearance of species due to the imprint of man.
The works show us a great variety of birds, mammals and reptiles, represented with strength and harmony of colors. "Even when?" it is an exhibition that both informs and seduces, alerts and excites.

It is time to fight against indifference and indolence in the face of the disappearance of the animal kingdom, in the era of “homo sapiens”.
Our so-called progress was imposed by geographical settlements, but man settled against that kingdom and not alongside it.
So much implantation has led to the fact that most species, today in the 21st century, are threatened in their existence.
Agriculture, urban development, infrastructure dividing the territory, as well as industrialization and its wastes, have endangered each species and its functions: feeding, reproducing and migrating.
We cannot ignore the deterioration of the environment, to which the human being is relatively accustomed, but the fauna cannot adapt or resist, suffering horribly the consequences of these changes.
Before the animals, big and small, companions of our life, disappear, this exhibition wants to be a manifesto, against oblivion, abuse and darkness.
The works on display are intended to contribute to an awareness, more than timely, necessary to avoid falling into an abyss, which would be the announced disappearance of that part of life.
It all started with a play, "Problems": three birds - thorny icebergs - were the protagonists of a love trio story. Fruit of the imagination. A reality. Spiny Lapwings (re) unite to protect their nests from predators, a constant threat that prevents them from resting during the incubation of the eggs.
