La galería dominicana Lyle O. Reitzel, fundada en 1995, ha sido seleccionada nuevamente para participar en la feria de Arte Contemporáneo “Zona MACO 2023”, a celebrarse entre el 8 y el 12 de Febrero en el Centro Citibanamex de la Ciudad de México.
Lyle O. Reitzel exhibe para la sección EJES, curada por Direlia Lazo, una propuesta estética conceptual titulada “Trilogía Caribe”, con la participación estelar de los maestros, José Bedia (Cuba), José García Cordero (Rep. Dominicana) y Edouard Duval-Carriè (Haiti), en un diálogo abierto donde confluye lo místico, el paisaje alucinante y los mártires involucrados en historias de rebelión afrocaribeña procurando la libertad para construir una nueva identidad.
Son tres universos visuales capaces de admitir una lectura espectro lógica de la polisíntesis en el Caribe contemporáneo. Se trata de tres propuestas estéticas auto significativas e ideológicamente vinculadas entre si, no sólo a través de unos contenidos objetivos en los que subyacen fuentes imagen éticas tradicionales o de unas resoluciones conceptuales que proclaman su vital transmutación de las poéticas más radicales de la modernidad artística occidental, sin olvidar el “surrealismo antillano”.
Según el crítico de arte y curador del Museo de Arte Moderno de Santo Domingo, Amable Lopez Melendez: “Las producciones recientes de Duval-Carrie, García Cordero y Bedia nos permiten confrontar tres prácticas creadoras eminentemente éticas y reflexivas. Sus respectivos repertorios metafóricos estallan y dialogan como espejo de una única sensibilidad y de un mismo discurso comprometidamente identitario.”
Esta es la tercera edición de la Trilogía Caribe. En el marco de Art Basel Miami Beach/2010, LOR Gallery y la Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance, conocido como Little Haiti Cultural Center (LHCC) de Miami presentaron la primera edición de Caribbean Trilogy: The Global Caribbean ll. La segunda edición fue presentada en el Centro Español de la República Dominicana en el 2011.
ZⓈONAMACO es la plataforma de ferias de arte más grande de Latinoamérica. Fue fundada en 2002 por Zélika García, con cuatro eventos que se llevan a cabo anualmente en Centro Citibanamex, en la Ciudad de México: ZⓈONAMACO MÉXICO ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO que reúne a galerías de arte líderes y emergentes nacionales e internacionales;

The Dominican gallery Lyle O. Reitzel, founded in 1995, has been selected once again to participate in the Contemporary Art fair "Zona MACO 2023", to be held between February 8 and 12 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City.
Lyle O. Reitzel exhibits for the EJES section, curated by Direlia Lazo, a conceptual aesthetic proposal entitled "Caribbean Trilogy", with the stellar participation of the teachers, José Bedia (Cuba), José García Cordero (Dominican Republic) and Edouard Duval -Carriè (Haiti), in an open dialogue where the mystical, the amazing landscape and the martyrs involved in stories of Afro-Caribbean rebellion come together seeking freedom to build a new identity.
They are three visual universes capable of admitting a spectrological reading of polysynthesis in the contemporary Caribbean. These are three self-signifying aesthetic proposals that are ideologically linked to each other, not only through objective contents in which traditional image sources underlie or conceptual resolutions that proclaim their vital transmutation of the most radical poetics of Western artistic modernity, without forget the “Antillean surrealism”.
According to the art critic and curator of the Museum of Modern Art of Santo Domingo, Amable Lopez Melendez: “The recent productions by Duval-Carrie, García Cordero and Bedia allow us to confront three eminently ethical and reflective creative practices. Their respective metaphorical repertoires explode and dialogue as a mirror of a single sensibility and of the same committed identity discourse.”
