Aparece ante nuestros ojos la artista Ani Mederos, la cual nos impresiona por su alto nivel estético y, como uno de esos momentos en que sales al patio a tomar el café de las mañanas y comienzas a “divagar” entre las bellezas de lo orgánico y tu hábitat personal, te asombras sobrecogido ante la belleza del rocío de las mañana en las hojitas nuevas que aparecen diseminadas, desapercibidas, ante tus ojos con su particular olor a especies que te tocan los sentidos; que se revelan en el tiempo y su espacio, dejándonos absortos por su maravilla inédita como un poema haikus. Cuando observas nuevas manifestaciones en las artes lo entiendes mejor, eso, de los procesos evolutivos. Miras hacia atrás a tu estela de recuerdos y comprendes que el arte contemporáneo ya está aquí manifestándose y que tenemos toda una generación de artistas nuevos incursionando en este giro de la creatividad, que se integra dialécticamente con un nuevo pensamiento y forma de mirar la creación.
Qué bueno es saber que hay una Ani Mederos por ahí, con su estilo tan personal, depurado, de impecable factura, reinventando el tiempo en el grabado, collage, dibujos, e incursionando en la temática tridimensional de lo escultórico, –que de hecho– es muy necesaria en nuestra cultura de las artes. La noticia de la cancelación del evento más importante de la fotografía de arte “PHOTOIMAGEN”, evento que se aplaza por la crisis sanitaria mundial del Covid-19. Es una pena mayor, primero por la excelencia de este festival de trascendencia internacional y segundo, por su magnífica organización a cargo de su directora, la Sra.Mayra Johnson y el Sr. Carlos Acero, subdirector ejecutivo del Centro de la Imagen.

The artist Ani Mederos appears before our eyes, which impresses us with her high aesthetic level and, as one of those moments when you go out to the patio to have coffee in the morning and begin to "wander" between the beauties of organic and your personal habitat, you are amazed in awe at the beauty of the morning dew on the new leaves that appear scattered, unnoticed, before your eyes with their particular smell of species that touch your senses; that are revealed in time and space, leaving us absorbed by its unpublished wonder like a haikus poem. When you observe new manifestations in the arts, you understand better, that, of evolutionary processes. You look back at your trail of memories and understand that contemporary art is already here manifesting itself and that we have a whole generation of new artists venturing into this turn of creativity, which is dialectically integrated with a new thought and way of looking at creation.
How good it is to know that there is an Ani Mederos out there, with her personal, refined, impeccably crafted style, reinventing time in engraving, collage, drawings, and venturing into the three-dimensional theme of sculpture, –which in fact– it is very necessary in our culture of the arts. The news of the cancellation of the most important event in art photography "PHOTOIMAGEN", an event that has been postponed due to the global health crisis of Covid-19.
