El sonido de un arroyo a la distancia.
El susurro de la brisa entre las ramas.
Un tiempo detenido en la hora azul,
Transcurriendo en ese espacio entre el sueño y la nostalgia.
Preservando la Magia nos conduce por senderos de magnolias que solo crecen en
este suelo. Subimos… bajamos, colinas tupidas en una composición que en ocasiones se aprecia desde la lejanía, mientras que, en otras, estamos cerca, presentes, involucrados, las briznas de hierba envolviendonos los pies. Miramos hacia arriba, y entonces aparecen: gigantes, en glorioso detalle, pétalos de margaritas, esferas de hortensias, cabelleras carmesíes, y dóciles tallos de agapantos. Analizamos el rostro de una magnolia que emerge sola de su fondo añil, o tal vez, será ella que nos mira?
Bajo las palmeras susurra el viento, donde todo el campo es un escenario, y las palmas son los actores. Imponentes y reales, llegan hasta el cielo donde las estrellas se confunden con los cocuyos. Cuando el viento del norte las despeina, se desata la fiesta. El rojo trae su vitalidad, y los amarillos la alegría. En este mundo jubiloso, Catalina escala montañas con una liana dorada. En otras obras, nos concentramos únicamente en las copas de los árboles, su movimiento contagiando la algarabía.
Al caer la tarde, encontramos remanso Aquí, Donde las Hadas Duermen, y Magnolias in the Mist nos devuelve al mundo onírico. En Aaaa ese azul, nos cobijamos en un interior con silla de guano, donde las ramas se han convertido en ramos en un jarrón, pero de donde los tallos del Encaje de la Reina se desbordan, se confunden y trepan paredes. Una orgánica naturaleza que no permite ser domesticada.
A través de un trazo efervescente y original, y una mezcla de papel, lienzo y espíritu, Patricia Reid Baquero nos adentra en un mundo vivo y cambiante, cohabitado por la reflexión y la esperanza. El Sueño de Don Enrique , se ha hecho realidad. A La Magnolia de mi Papá le ha cogido con florecer, también nos llena de optimismo, y se nos asegura de que, para Carlos, en una Ermita junto al Cielo, siempre estará el consuelo.

The sound of a stream in the distance.
The whisper of the breeze through the branches.
A time stopped in the blue hour,
Passing in that space between dream and nostalgia.
Preserving Magic leads us down paths of magnolias that only grow in
this ground. We go up… we go down, dense hills in a composition that can sometimes be seen from afar, while, at others, we are close, present, involved, the blades of grass wrapping around our feet. We look up, and then they appear: giants, in glorious detail, daisy petals, hydrangea spheres, crimson tresses, and docile agapanthus stems. We analyze the face of a magnolia that emerges alone from its indigo background, or maybe, is it the one looking at us?
Under the palm trees the wind whispers, where the whole field is a stage, and the palms are the actors. Imposing and real, they reach the sky where the stars are confused with the fireflies. When the north wind ruffles their hair, the party breaks out. The red brings its vitality, and the yellows the joy. In this jubilant world, Catalina scales mountains with a golden vine. In other works, we focus solely on the tops of the trees, their movement spreading the hubbub.
As evening falls, we find haven Here, Where the Fairies Sleep, and Magnolias in the Mist returns us to the dream world. In Aaaa ese azul, we take shelter in an interior with a guano chair, where the branches have become bouquets in a vase, but where the stems of the Queen's Lace overflow, merge and climb walls. An organic nature that does not allow to be domesticated.
Through an effervescent and original line, and a mixture of paper, canvas and spirit, Patricia Reid Baquero takes us into a living and changing world, cohabited by reflection and hope. The Dream of Don Enrique has come true. My Dad's Magnolia has caught on with blooming, she also fills us with optimism, and she assures us that, For Carlos, in a Hermitage next to Heaven, there will always be consolation.
