En el año 1921, el más importante lujo del ingenio Porvenir vio por vez primera la luz del día; lo llamaron Paul Giudicelli. Vástago de ancestros corsos, quien, al paso del tiempo, llegaría a ser el más importante pintor abstracto de nuestro país.
De recia contextura física y firme carácter, Giudicelli fraguó su arte con el calor y la inquietud de la intuición y la destreza. Visionario autodidacta, legionario artífice de las más atrevidas anti formas saturadas de agresivo color, informes, de viril formato, escabrosas, táctiles, broncas, lujuriosas, arte pleno de energía y belleza.
Arte que trilló todos los senderos, que trazó pautas; original y austero. Arte embrujado con destino cierto, arte tocado por la mano divina, por el trueno, por la esperanza, por el sentir del alma; en fin, arte tocado por el hombre, el hombre artista.
Giudicelli pautó vertientes diversas en su quehacer artístico. Sin los recursos técnicos necesarios, intuyó, intentó y realizó espléndidas cerámicas tratadas con las más primarias técnicas, con hermosos resultados. Curiosas y auténticas, trabajadas al fuego e ilustradas con gracia exquisita.
Diseños geométricos de parco color, de marcadas líneas negras. Glaseadas piezas que, ensambladas con gusto y destreza, nos decían de un arte propio, insurrecto, y nos hablaban de esfuerzo, valor, encanto y belleza.
Su exquisita y valiente pintura abstracta de Paul, es una experimental aventura con marcados signos de unidad, equilibrio, de color germinal, tierras encendidas, amarillos, matices tiernos y tranquilos, lógico esquema gráfico de marcadas líneas negras que demarcan el lugar preciso, donde el color refulgente y espléndido, asienta sus predios.
Superficie escabrosa y táctil, sujeta con firmeza a la tela, creando esa sensación de solidez que nos muestran sus cuadros, pero también Giudicelli habla y dice en otro tono, un tono menor, afinado e íntimo. Esta vez, el formato amplio y simple, hace de sostén a un coloquio expresivo y tierno, esta vez, de colores pasteles, íntimos, tenues, calmado espectáculo de paz y concordia.

Su obra de estudio es excelente, sus murales en cerámica: exquisitos, bravíos y expresivos. Su pintura, arte de tono mayor, fue premiada aquí y el extranjero: Brasil, México, Estados Unidos, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Francia y otros países. Sus galerías hablan con respeto y admiración de su autor.

Así partieron Paul y Abril, como camaradas en el tiempo; la franqueza y la amistad encontraron al final su destino: Su Gloria.
