ás de dos siglos lleva la lucha por los derechos de las mujeres y su búsqueda de equidad de género. Muchos son los logros que llevan consigo, sin embargo, globalmente aún continúa la reivindicación de sus derechos fundamentales y de la eliminación de la desigualdad en el plano social, político y cultural. Lastimosamente la violencia intrafamiliar, la desigualdad en los empleos y, en general, las limitantes para su participación, activa y equitativa en las diferentes esferas de la sociedad, así como el escaso reconocimiento de sus aportes, continúan siendo “el pan nuestro de cada día”. En muchos países todavía sigue vigente el matrimonio obligatorio, el acceso limitado a la educación y la no inclusión social de las mujeres, a pesar de que suman la mitad de los habitantes del planeta.
En el plano internacional son evidentes estas restricciones, que impiden su participación plena en los distintos espacios de integración, incluyendo el artístico. En el caso de República Dominicana esa lucha reivindicativa ha incitado a mujeres de diferentes sectores creativos a alzar sus voces a favor de esta causa. Un grito conceptual que se levanta, como un pequeño SUSURRO, desde esta media isla del Caribe. Un compromiso que las motiva a enarbolar propuestas que promueven la equidad, la inclusión y la igualdad, a partir de la cuestionante elemental del papel del arte ante estas circunstancias, y a asumir una postura comprometida frente a esta realidad global y local que se nos plantea como una urgencia, que cobra forma en una necesidad social de respuesta.
Ante estas circunstancias podemos entender la obra de muchas artistas dominicanas que abordan temas relativos al universo femenino; tales como las relaciones de pareja, la identidad y la violencia de género, los proceso migratorios -relacionados con la pobreza y la prostitución-, así como otros aspectos alusivos a la condición humana en general. Temas todos tratados de manera especial en este proyecto, que reúne la obra de Belkis Ramírez, Citlally Miranda, Inés Tolentino, Raquel Paiewonsky y Scherezade García; presentando la visión de cinco artistas contemporáneas dominicanas, que abordan a través de sus obras -desde diferentes perspectivas y realidades- el tema de la mujer, estableciendo un diálogo diacrónico que incluye instalación, fotografía, video, pintura, xilografía y dibujo.
Creaciones convertidas en ocasiones en denuncias, con la intención de crear conciencia y de aportar en la búsqueda de soluciones ante la vulneración de losderechos de las mujeres y niñas de todo el planeta. Problemas que hablan de una deuda social no saldada, abordados magistralmente por estas cinco mujeres, que, en un diálogo multigeneracional, se convierten en grandes voces que desde el Caribe susurran realidades e historias del microcosmos propio y ajeno, presentadas con la intención de sumar en el discurso global y que, de algún modo, se constituyen en ofrenda y homenaje a la mujer violentada…

She has been fighting for women's rights and her search for gender equality for more than two centuries. Many are the achievements that they bring with them, however, globally they still continue to demand their fundamental rights and the elimination of inequality in the social, political and cultural spheres. Unfortunately, domestic violence, inequality in employment and, in general, the limitations for their active and equitable participation in the different spheres of society, as well as the scant recognition of their contributions, continue to be "our daily bread." ”. In many countries, compulsory marriage, limited access to education and the lack of social inclusion of women are still in force, despite the fact that they make up half of the planet's inhabitants.
At the international level, these restrictions are evident, which prevent their full participation in the different integration spaces, including the artistic one. In the case of the Dominican Republic, this vindictive struggle has incited women from different creative sectors to raise their voices in favor of this cause. A conceptual cry that rises, like a small WHISPER, from this half Caribbean island. A commitment that motivates them to raise proposals that promote fairness, inclusion and equality, based on the elementary questioning of the role of art in these circumstances, and to assume a committed position in the face of this global and local reality that is presented to us as an urgency, which takes shape in a social need for response.
Given these circumstances we can understand the work of many Dominican artists who address issues related to the female universe; such as couple relationships, gender identity and violence, the migratory process -related to poverty and prostitution-, as well as other aspects related to the human condition in general. Topics all treated in a special way in this project, which brings together the work of Belkis Ramírez, Citlally Miranda, Inés Tolentino, Raquel Paiewonsky and Scherezade García; presenting the vision of five contemporary Dominican artists, who approach through their works -from different perspectives and realities- the theme of women, establishing a diachronic dialogue that includes installation, photography, video, painting, woodcut and drawing.
Creations sometimes turned into complaints, with the intention of raising awareness and contributing to the search for solutions to the violation of the rights of women and girls around the planet. Problems that speak of an unpaid social debt, masterfully addressed by these five women, who, in a multigenerational dialogue, become great voices that from the Caribbean whisper realities and stories of their own microcosm and that of others, presented with the intention of adding the global discourse and that, in some way, constitute an offering and homage to the violated woman...
