La Asociación Dominicana de Historiadores de Arte (ADHA) en coordinación con la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), presentará la primera Jornada Científica de Historia del Arte, de manera virtual a desarrollarse este mes de noviembre los dìas sábado 19 de 9:00 a.m. a 12 m. y de 3:00 a 5:00 p.m. y el domingo 20 de 10:00 a.m. a 12 m.
Esta primera edición del evento estará dedicada al historiador dominicano Emilio Rodriìguez Demorizi. El tema central será “El papel del historiador del arte en el contexto actual”, el cual será abordado por cuatro reconocidas especialistas como son: Isabel Serrano, Laura Gil, María Fals y Andrea Noriega Martínez. De igual modo se presentará una conferencia magistral, a cargo de la doctora Yolanda Wood, especialista en arte caribeño.
En el curso del tiempo, el papel del historiador del arte se ha ido expandiendo y aumentando su espectro hacia otras áreas del campo artístico. Es así como en la actualidad cada vez más el historiador del arte incide con sus enfoques en los ámbitos de la curaduría, la museografía, el coleccionismo, así como en el contexto de los estudios culturales y en la creación de metodologías para la enseñanza de la historia del arte. Considerando los grandes cambios de la humanidad y la transformación de la profesión creemos pertinente reflexionar sobre estos aspectos, sin dejar de lado los planteamientos que lleven a nuevas miradas en torno a la producción artística actual y a los creadores contemporáneos.

The Dominican Association of Art Historians (ADHA) in coordination with the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), will present the first Scientific Conference on Art History, virtually to take place this November on Saturday 19 from 9: 00 am at 12m and from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday the 20th from 10:00 a.m. at 12m
This first edition of the event will be dedicated to the Dominican historian Emilio Rodriìguez Demorizi. The central theme will be "The role of the art historian in the current context", which will be addressed by four renowned specialists such as: Isabel Serrano, Laura Gil, María Fals and Andrea Noriega Martínez. Likewise, a master conference will be presented by Dr. Yolanda Wood, a specialist in Caribbean art.
In the course of time, the role of the art historian has been expanding and increasing its spectrum towards other areas of the artistic field. This is how, nowadays, art historians influence more and more with their approaches in the fields of curatorship, museography, collecting, as well as in the context of cultural studies and in the creation of methodologies for teaching art. history of art.
